Emergency Water Shutoff and Precautionary Boil-Water Advisory – Westwood Heights

Consolidated Utilities crews responded today to an emergency water main issue in the Westwood Heights subdivision. During routine operations, a leak was discovered next to one of our water mains, and the corporation valve located directly on the main had to be shut down to make the repair.

Because this was an emergency, our crews had to shut the valve down immediately and were unable to notify residents in advance. We understand an unexpected loss of service is disruptive, and we appreciate your patience while the work was completed.

Precautionary Boil-Water Advisory

As a precaution, we are asking Westwood Heights customers to boil tap water before drinking until further notice. Bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute and allow it to cool before use.

This precaution applies to drinking water only. All other uses — including showering, bathing, washing dishes, laundry, and cleaning — are not affected and require no special precautions.

After Service Is Restored

When service returns, you may notice temporary discoloration or air in your lines. If this happens, run a cold-water tap for a few minutes until the water runs clear.
