Update: Boil Advisory Lifted for Westwood Heights

Consolidated Utilities is pleased to announce that the boil water advisory for Westwood Heights has been lifted. Water service to the subdivision has returned to normal, and customers no longer need to boil their water before drinking, cooking, or preparing food.

What happened

The precautionary advisory was issued following a recent emergency water main repair in the Westwood Heights subdivision. Any time a main loses pressure during a repair, there is a possibility that contaminants can enter the distribution system. As a standard safety measure, we ask affected customers to boil their water until testing confirms it is safe.

Why the advisory has been lifted

An advisory like this is not cleared by the passage of time — it is cleared by test results. After the repair was completed, we collected water samples and submitted them for laboratory analysis.

We have now received a microbiological sample response confirming the water is safe to drink. With that clear result in hand, the advisory has been officially rescinded.

What this means for you

• You no longer need to boil your water. It is safe to drink, cook with, and use as you normally would.
• Notice discoloration or air in your lines? Run a cold-water tap for a few minutes until the water runs clear. This is normal after a main repair and should resolve quickly.
